2022 Gold Coast Student Excellence Awards

    The Gold Coast Student Excellence Awards recognises and acknowledges the city's outstanding students through the positive impact and contributions they have made in our community. The Awards are presented by Study Gold Coast and are endorsed by the Office of the Mayor of the Gold Coast.

    This year's event will offer attendees a glamorous celebration of student achievement and the end of the academic year with a spectacular party hosted on board The YOT Club, a luxurious floating oasis on the stunning Gold Coast Broadwater with live music by The Baker Boys.  Tickets include delicious cocktail canapes.
    Gold Coast Student Excellence Award winners in each category are awarded $1,000 along with a certificate and personalised trophy. All Award winners will also be recognised for their achievements by invitation to become part of the Gold Coast Student Alumni Network.

    Award categories include: 
    • Excellence in enhancing our communities - recognises a current Gold Coast student who has consistently demonstrated through work experience, volunteering and/or community engagement to enhance the broader Gold Coast community. 
    • Excellence in protecting our environment - recognises a current Gold Coast student who has consistently engaged in initiatives or programs that promote sustainable practices or create awareness of the importance of protecting our pristine natural environment.
    • Excellence in championing diversity - recognises a current Gold Coast student who has advocated for, and championed the values of embracing diversity in its various forms within our community.
    • Excellence in peer to peer support - recognises a current Gold Coast student who has consistently given their time to help others in the areas of mental health and well-being, academic support or any other initiative that benefits fellow students.
    • Excellence in fostering creative arts - recognises a current Gold Coast student who has mastered a particular art form, instigated an arts-based initiative for community benefit, or made a significant contribution as a champion of our vibrant arts community.
    • Excellence in promoting sport and wellness - recognises a current Gold Coast student who has contributed their time, skills, and knowledge significantly to sport and wellness in the community. 

    Nominee Eligibility Criteria: 
    - Must have been an international or a domestic student, studying or graduated between January 2022 - December 2022
    - Must have been studying on the Gold Coast at a registered education institution
    - Must have been living on the Gold Coast during 2022
    - Must be a person of good repute and character (application will ask for personal or professional references)
